GANGAI AMMAN TEMPLE - This is one of the oldest temple at Velachery. There is a Kulam (Big Pond) in front of the temple. To perform rituals for the persons who have died, this water pond place is used. GANGAI means water. The goddess is named after it. A new belt of houses formed near the 100 feet road is named after this Goddess, that area is called as GANGAI NAGAR.
