This was a small Marina style Safeway that was taken over by Furr's in 1987. In the late 1990s, Furr's did an extensive remodel and the store was doubled in size to the size of a modern supermarket. In 2001, the store was closed and sold to Smith's, a subsidiary of Kroger.
