Subway station “ Rusatveli” first came into exploitation in 1966. The construction was carried out according to the project by O. Kalandarishvili and L. Janelidze. by “ Tbilkalakproject”. Subway station “ Rusatveli” differs from the other ones by its longest escalator.
The hall of the station is face with the red marble and it is decorated with the relief depicting the struggle of the fellow and the tiger( Characters from Rustaveli famous poem “ The knight in the skin of the tiger”).
Subway station “ Rusatveli” has the entrance only from one side. At the entrance of the station the passengers are provided with the service of the “ Bank of Georgia “
