Until the early 1970s it was possible for children to hire bikes here and ride them around a set of roads laid out like a miniature version of the real thing, complete with working traffic lights, flashing Belicia beacons and a variety of traffic signs and road markings together with the hazards they depicted. The road markings and signage are long gone as are the hire bikes but it is still possible to cycle round the layout, one part of which has been converted and extended into a BMX track.
