Considering its extension, its one of the longest beach at the Island. Its main attaction is Morro Dois Irmãos (the twin brothers Hill), which consists on two similar rocky formations at the sea shore. From December trough Aplril its tube waves are similar to Hawaii ones. It has been considered an ideal spot for the surfing, body boarding and hand surfing championship.
The former title of this beach was Quixaba. the origin of this name comes from the discovery of a drinking spring, by the prision system priest in 1888.
Area under Tamar/Ibama Project for protection and research of marine turtle on their hatching period (December to June), its access is prohibited from 6 p.m to 8 a.m.
