The Athens Restaurant was established in 1982 at the corner of Barrington & Blowers Streets in downtown Halifax. The original restaurant closed in the spring of 1994. Rising like a phoenix from the ashes, the Athens reopened its doors at its current Quinpool Road location in May of 1996. The Athens is owned and operated by the Panopalis family, Evangelos, Areti, Sam & Dimitri.
