Independent studio lot available for rentals. Originally built by Chaplin's studio manager, John Jasper in 1919 as Jasper Studios (AKA Hollywood Studios, Inc.), in the early 20s it was known as Hollywood Studios and Metropolitan Pictures, and the entrance was on Santa Monica Blvd (6642 Santa Monica Blvd.). Harold Lloyd rented the studio during the mid 20s.

Howard Hughes shot the silent version of Hells Angels here (1929).

For many years was known as first as Metropolitan Studios and then as General Services Studios with the administration building on Romain (the General Services sign can still be seen under coast of paint, behind a fence, as can the old building entrance).

In 1980, Francis Ford Coppola bought the studio for his American Zoetrope company. He attempted a return to the studio system by placing stars and technicians under personal contract. The attempt failed and he nearly went broke. Coppola finally sold the studio it in 1983.

During the 80's it was divided into two lots, the larger Hollywood Center and the smaller Hollywood National (currently known as 204 studios. As Hollywood Center it began a complete renovation and expansion rebuilding existing infrastructure and acquiring some surrounding property..

As of May 2, 2017, Hudson Capital purchased the lot and renamed it Sunset Las Palmas Studios. Today Sunset Las Palmas Studios is a major player in the studio rental business. The lot becomes part of a trio of commonly owned studios, that includes Sunset Gower, and Sunset Bronson.

Until his death, this was where George Burns came every day to his office.
