Umm Qeis أم قيس is a town in Jordan located on the site of the ruined Hellenistic-Roman city of Gadara (also called Antiochia, Antiochia Semiramis, and Seleucia). Gadara was a semi-autonomous city of the Roman Decapolis, a group of ten cities on the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire in Jordan, Syria, and Palestine.
