Pontlieue Hairpin (Le Mans)

Little known fact that the original LeMans 24 hour circuit extended over 10 miles in length. Northernmost point was this hairpin in the town square of Le Mans itself. In use from 1923-28. Essentially, competitors ran up the road past the pits currently in use to this point, then proceeded south round the hairpin, eventually regaining the present day circuit at Tertre Rouge.
