Ezo town - Established in 1896 in a pastureland that belonged to Ezo of Gamo Qogo. One of Meneliks Garrison Towns in the Gamo mountains and south of it (Qara, Baza, Ezo, Kodo, Chencha, Gardulla).See Richard Pankhurst's History of Ethiopian Towns and about the fortifications in Ezo in the 1890s. Many articles in the Geographical Journal of the early 20th century refer to this village and the receptions they were offered here by the leaders of the conquest Army.
