  • The town where the estate of William Floyd (signer of the declaration of independence resides). His sister married General Nathaniel Woodhull. In 1775 he was elected president of the New York Provincial Congress putting him in charge of the militias of Suffolk and Queens Counties. Mastic Beach is where his grave can be found.
  • This used to be a poorer man's summer cottage locale. Now it's turned into a white trash and other assorted shades ghetto of year round inhabitance. Yuk.
