Located just off the Karakoram Highway, Kongur Tiube, one of the summits of the Kongur Tagh Massif, is the second highest peak of the Western Kunlun, and the 47th in the world. Kongur Tiube is more challenging with its steep snow-ice slopes, complicated terrain and a very high altitude. Not more than 10 expeditions have successfully climbed the mountain since the first ascent in 1956.
