The present location of the Most Holy Trinity Church, Powai. It was relocated here in 1846 from its original location at the bottom of the Powai valley, now under the "Powai Lake" reservoir, flooded when the English built a dam over a local river. The lake bottom was a village named Trinidade, Portuguese for Trinity. It is said that during particular drought years, when the reservoir level is very low, the spire of the old Most Holy Trinity Church at the bottom of the lake becomes visible over the water level.
