The Frappant Building was famous when it opened in the first pedestrian mall in Germany. Since the decline of the area and the KARSTADT department store leaving the building there has been a lot of discussion about how to recover. In 2010 it seems that IKEA will open its first City Store here by 2012, dividing the people of Altona in two groups. Some hoping for a new era, others afraid of the traffic...
