Hospital CemeteryThis is the largest and most well-maintained cemetery on the former State Hospital grounds. It is easily accessible by foot via the driveway from the west, and makes a rather nice short walk on a sunny day.
This can be a spooky area, as most of the graves here are at least 60 years old, and some far older. Many of them do not have names, but simply numbers, which is an eerie and unsettling reminder of what went on at this hospital. Many of the trees surrounding this cemetery are very old - likely 100 years or more - and stand as a perfect compliment to the area. This is also speculated to be the area that Bookbinder's ghost appears (former groundskeeper of the hospital, and mute) along with his "weeping" tree. Once in a great while you'll see fresh flowers on an old grave in this cemetery, but most of the people buried here have long since been forgotten.
