Kilbaha is a small village with a rich history. Of special note is the Catholic 'Church of the Little Ark', which houses the original Ark, essentially a church on wheels used to provide church service to the local residents during the 1800's. British rule at the time forbade Catholic services. The Ark would appear in the village center and then it would be wheeled away and hidden.

The village also boasts Keatings Pub, "The closest pub in western Europe to New York." "The Lighthouse", is a pub, restaurant and guesthouse serving great seafood and the best Irish breakfast in the area.

A small stone pier protects several fishing and pleasure boats and lends a quaint appearance to the village.

  • This place is a little bit of heaven on earth. I highly recommend it to everybody. It's a taste of what life should be about. Beautiful scenery, relaxed life style, wonderful people, exceptional food, drink and accomodation, excellent fishing, a beautiful bay with spectacular views, splendid walks with views of the huge cliffs and Loop Head lighthouse. One of the most beautiful places I've ever had the privilege of being in.
  • I agree 100% with Pat Keating. Kilbaha is jewel of a place. Never should be missed if you're a tourist.
