Fog Signal Building (San Francisco, California)

Twin fog signal buildings were built here in 1874. Only one remains now. To the right of the buildings was the water tank and a coal house on the left, as the fog signals were steam powered. The photo postcard shows the grounds in their original configuration, including the steam-powered derrick used to hoist supplies up the side of the cliff.
