These are toughest bends in entire journey to Lord Badrinath. Before climbing on these bends, all vehicle drivers are advised to check that vehicle's hand & paddel brakes are in perfect working conditions, fuel tank is more than half full, spark plugs are clean and ok, air filters are clean & perfect, vehicle is not missing, tyre air pressure is perfect, horn working perfectly, head & brakes lights perfect. Without ensuring these conditions near Hanuman Chatti, one must not proceed ahead for negotiating on these climbing scissors curves, otherwise he/she will not only put himself/herself in trouble, but will also endanger the other vehicles following to it.Further all Diesel vehicles which works on CI engines must not break their climbing momentum. Most important! better bit late than never i.e. never try to overtake at narrow passages and always use head and remember that Lord is watching all of us. It will be testing of skills & temperament.

Although, due to cold environment, heating of engine is not big problem, yet, as there are steep gradient at some places during climbing, the vehicle invariably goes in 1st-2nd gears, therefore apart from perfect working of brakes, the perfect cooling of the engine is also required to be ensured beforehand i.e. coolants circulation in radiator and engine should be perfect, otherwise engine may not develop enough climbing power or may even fail due to overheating during climbing. In short the vehicles would be put on ultimate testing for their hill worthiness. Most important! Keeping on memorizing of the Lord Sri Badri Narayan and Lord’s param sevaka! Bajrang bali, the great Hanuman; during negotiating on these gradient and curves, would surely help oneself to reach within no time to “DEO DARSHINI” i.e. the place from where Lord Sri Badri Narayan’s Temple is first visible.

Hope these tips will benefit the people who are taking up or planning their first journey driving their vehicles.
