Great midway-stop along the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail between Faribault and Mankato. Campground, fishing pier, picnic areas, boat launch, hiking, interpretive center, XC skiing and snowmobile trails.

The Wahpekita tribe of the Dakota Sioux called this area “sakatah” or “singing hills". The area represents the transition zone between the “big woods” and more open southern Minnesota prairie. Some Wahpekita burial mounds are located within the park.
