This original Apollo space capsule sits in front of the Van Andel Museum Center. The capsule is a test boilerplate (BP-1227) that was lost by NASA, recovered by the Soviet Union, then returned to the US some time later, aboard a USCG ice breaker. It is owned by the National Air & Space Museum and on loan to the city until 2076.
