Vakai Pathi

This is the Sixth important Pathi of Ayyavazhi next to the other five of the Pancha Pathi. This site gains its status as a Pathi from the fact that it was the northern entrance of the Dwaraga Pathi believed to be situated presently under the sea as per Akilathirattu Ammanai, the holy text of Ayyavazhi.

However this is also the place where 700 families performed severe austrity for six months. This is also considered as the birth place of Ayyavazhi, since it was from here it generates as an alternative socio-religious phenomenon.
