Sibley park dam ruins

Ruins of the Sibley park dam across the Blue Earth River between Sibley and Land of Memories parks. Dam was built in the 1930's in an effort to control river volume going into Mankato, which created a large reservoir used for swimming. The dam was removed with dynamite in the 1950's.

Ruins are visible in the river from the Sibley park side. Lesser-known, but larger remains are hidden in the woods on the Land of Memories side.
