The Washington Bridge is an arch bridge which spans the Harlem River. It has a span of 510 feet and a total length of 2,375 feet. The bridge was opened to foot traffic on December 1, 1888 and formally opened to all traffic on February 22, 1889, which is its namesake's, George Washington's, birthday.
