Our Lady of Gudalupe is declared as the second patroness of the Philippines. Numerous replica of Gudalupe icon are seen at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Church in Makati City but the oldest icon was given by the Unson, Paredes and Garcia family. It was housed in the San Nicolas Chapel at Sampaloc before it was transferred to Makati City in December 1951. It was solemnly blessed by his Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin on December 11, 1994. The 4,954 sq.m. shrine in Guadalupe Nuevo is a Pro-Life Shrine and the image, a Pro-Life guardian of the unborn and all of life forms.

The Confraternity of Our Lady of Guadalupe was established on July 15, 1997 by a decree issued by Jaime Cardinal Sin. Members are obliged to pray the novena every Saturday and on the 12th of the month, attend a noon mass where the women are required to wear color pink and the men are required to wear light blue, the colors of Guadalupe.

  • I happen to stumble to this link and I got really excited. I remember we used to live in Guadalupe closed to this church, the street name is Camino delafe. Wow! I wish I can zoom in and check out the placed.
