Cohoes Falls

A spectacular set of falls, especially when the Mohawk River is flooding in March or April. It is the supposed site where Hiawathata went over the falls in his canoe, shouting, "Cohoes." Thus the name of the city that borders it. Bald eagles have also been sighted along the river, so keep a lookout. The best place to view the falls is the Cohoes Elks parking lot.
