This used to be the local middle school (7-8 grades) until 1994, when the new Sneed Middle School opened. Over the summer of 1994 this building was renovated to house students from grades 5-6. Part of the renovation included lowering the ceilings by a few feet, in order not to intimidate the younger students. Alas, taller students kept banging their heads.
