Cau Hai (Hai Bridge) lagoon is part of the largest lagoons system in Southeast Asia: the Tam Giang - Cau Hai system. It extends from the Hai bridge to the Phu Gia pass and is connected to the South China sea by the Tu Hien inlet. The lagoon is well known for its biodiversity with 21 species being considered as endangered by the EU. In addition to fishing, tourism is also seen as a strategic industry in the long term plan for developing the area's economy.
