Azadi Square (Tehran)

Azadi Square (Persian: میدان آزادی, Meidan Azadi) was built during the Shah's regime. It was called Sahyaad in those times. It was named Freedom Sq due to it's importance during the Revolution to be a gathering spot for demonstration against the dictatorial rule of the the Shah and Freedom from it.
