railway bridge, 1830s construction, Grade II* Listed (UK), viaduct (bridge construction style)

This is a very early and picturesque railway viaduct.
It opened in 1837. It looks down on historic cottages at the Dutton locks on the Weaver Navigation (half a mile to the North East).
Unfortunately, together with Acton Bridge station, it forms a bottleneck that limits West coast mail line capacity by making widening (to four tracks) a very costly proposition.
