Also known as GATR, it was used to communicate with nearby airborne aircraft. Early GATR sites had separate transmit and receive facilities. They were also typically not collocated with Air Defense Command radar sites to avoid interference from the powerful radar signals. The GATR site was demolished in November 2013.
