  • Originally the highest point in Brooklyn before it was leveled for the Resevoir (that has since been filled in in the 1920-30s). It is also what Prospect Park gets its name from. The original design for Prospect Park included Mount Prospect as well as a portion of Prospect Height neighborhood up to Prospect Place over to Washington Avenue. However this idea was abondoned when Olmstead and Vaux were brought in after the Cival War and redesigned the Park and much of the North Area was sold off and developed into the Prospect Height residential neighborhood we know it as today.
