  • This is My great great grand father's village,still our father satying this place. Our village name METRANA,I SPEND MY CHILDHOOD IN THIS VILLAGE I WAS STUDYED IN PRATHMICK SHALA SCHOOL AND I USE TO STUDY UNDER THE TREE THEN WE ARRIVED IN MUMBAI THEN PUNE AND NOW I M IN NEWZEALAND,I REALLY MISS MY BACK DAYS IN METRANA GAM I MISS MY ALL FRIEND AND MY FAMILLY,WHEN I AM LIVED IN METRANA 10YEARS AGO THERE ARE 700 MUMAN JAMAT IS THERE BUT I RECENATLLY VISIT IN 2008 THERE ARE JUST 40 MEMBRS ARE LEFT, WHAT I SAY ONLY ONE THAT I REALLY MISS MY DAYS IN METRANA I WANT THTA TIME BACK BUT .................ITS GONE THANKS
  • I SPENT ALMOST 25 MY CHILDHOOD YEARS IN METRANA, I SURE MISS THIS SMALL VILLAGE, WHEN I WAS IN METRANA THERE WERE AROUND 65 HOUSES OF SHIA IMAMI ISMAILI ( MOMIN) JAMAT AND AROUND 650-700 MOMIN JAMAT LIVED THERE, I HAVE NOT VISITED METRANA SINCE I LEFT THE COUNTRY IN 1980 IT IS ALMOST 28 YEARS BUT I STILL MISS MY CHILHOOD, I HAD LOT OF ISMAILIES AND NON-ISMAILIES FREINDS THERE BUT I DO NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH THEM ANY MORE EXCEPT ONE MY FREIND RAHIM KASSAM MAREDIA I TALK WITH HIM ON TELEPHONE AROUND 3-4 MONTHS AGO, HE LIVES IN MUMBAI AND HE IS IN HOTEL BUSINESS. THE LAST TIME I HEARD THAT LOT OF MY NON-ISMAILIES FREIND STILL REMEMBER ME AND THEY MISS ME, I WILL VISIT METRANA ONE OF DAY THAT IS FOR SURE. BY THE WAY I AM IN STATE SINCE 1983 FIRST I WENT TO PAKISTAN AND CAME USA. SINCE THEN I AM HERE.

  • My primary education during 1970 to 1972 was in lovely village Metrana. Can not forget this golden period. Shri Amthalal, my father being Principal of primary school contributed a lot for well-being of village, particularly for construction of over-head water tank. However, we being untouchable,were not allowed to take water of the said tank at the material time. Momin (Memon) community dominating thevillage is very honest, hardworking and god-fearing. I have not visited this village since then. Best luck to all of this village.
  • Born & brought up in Mumbai. Metrana is our Ancestral village. We belong to the Shia Imami Ismaili (Momin) community. My grandfather came to Bombay at the age of 8 years. He used to work in a horse stable as a masseur. Then from owning horse cart, then motor Taxi’s (Cab’s). He had 6 sons & 2 daughters. Out of them 4 are US citizens 1 is an MDS Dentist in Nagpur. 3 well settled in Mumbai with their own Flats. From a humble start as a Horse masseur in Bombay to date, we have come a long way. This is only possible because of the timely guidance of our Beloved spiritual leader H.H Karim Aga Khan – IV. We are still in touch with our roots. We have a house in Metrana which we visit at regular intervals. This small place in Sidhpur District - North Gujarat will always have a special place in our hart. “Proud to be a Gujarati Muslim.”
  • hey..... metrana is my birth place. im living now in siddhpur.i go to visit there every weekend on sunday. Me n my friend used to play at beside the jamatkhana on road. we really enjoy there. i like this place. I still remember my childhood, wen i was of 14 .......i also remember the days of rainy season me nmy friend were roamed in whole village..... thats the flood had occured.Bridge was broken.We also played cricket there....... The place n the past days of my village life is unforgotale...........

  • મેત્રાણા એક ગામનું નામ છે, જે ભારત દેશના પશ્ચિમ ભાગમાં આવેલા ગુજરાત રાજ્યના ઉત્તર ભાગમાં આવેલા પાટણ જિલ્લાના સિદ્ધપુર તાલુકામાં આવેલું છે. મેત્રાણા ગામના લોકોનો મુખ્ય વ્યવસાય ખેતી, ખેતમજુરી, પશુપાલન તેમ જ નોકરી છે. આ ગામમાં પ્રાથમિક શાળા, પંચાયત ઘર તેમ જ દૂધની ડેરીની સવલતો ઉપલબ્ધ થયેલી છે. મેત્રાણામાં લગભગ ૬૦૦ વર્ષ પુરાણું જૈન દેરાસર આવેલું છે, જે ગામનું એક આકર્ષણ છે. આ ઉપરાંત ચાચરીયા ચૌહાણનું પણ એક મન્દિર અહીં આવેલુ છે. ભાઈબીજના દીવસે અહીં મેળો ભરાય છે. તેનો ટુકો ઇતીહાસ આ પ્રમાણે છે. મેત્રાણા ગામ ચાચરેટ દાદાની પાવન ઉપસ્થિતિના કારણે પણ સમગ્ર સિદ્ધપુર-કાકોશી-વાગડોદ-પાટણ પંથકમાં જાણીતું છે. ગુજરાત રાજય દશનામ ગોસ્વામી મહામંડળના માજી અઘ્યક્ષ અને ગાગલાસણ શાળાના નિવૃત્ત આચાર્ય કાળુગિરિ ભગવાનગિરિ ગોસ્વામી કહે છે કે, શ્નલોકવાયકા મુજબ આ સ્થાનક ૮૫૦ વષ્ાર્ કરતાં પણ વધુ પ્રાચીન છે. તે સમયે કસાઇઓનો ભારે ત્રાસ હતો. ગોચરમાં ઘાસચારો ચરતાં ગાયોના ધણને આંતરી લઇ જઇ ત્રાસ ફેલાવતા હતા. તે અરસામાં ચાચરિયા ગામેથી ચૌહાણ કુળના રાજપૂત ઘરાણાની જાન કુંવારા ગામે આવેલી. રાજપૂત યુવાન લગ્નમંડપમાં હોંશિલો બની પહેલો, બીજૉ અને ત્રીજૉ મંગળફેરો ફરી રહ્યો હતો, તેવા સમયે જ બૂંગિયો ઢોલ ધબકી ઊઠયો. સીમમાં કસાઇઓ ઉતરી પડયા હોવાની અને ગાયોના ધણ હાંકી જતાં હોવાની બૂમો સંભળાઇ. ગાયોને હાંકી જવાની વાત સાંભળી મીંઢળબંધા યુવાનનું લોહી ઊકળી ઊઠયું અને તલવારના એક ઝાટકે વરમાળાને છોડી ઘોડા પર સવાર થઇ ગાયોની વહારે ચડયા. તેમની સાથે લુણારી બહેન અને ખોડલો કોટવાળ નામે ઢોલી પણ હતા. ત્રણેય જણાંએ ગાયોના ધણ લઇને જતાં કસાઇઓ સાથે જીવ સટોસટની બાજી લગાવી.ધણ પાછું વાળ્યું. પરંતુ તેમાં ઢોલી અને લુહારી બહેન કામ આવી ગયાં. આ શૂરવીરે બંનેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા કે શ્નગાયોના રક્ષણ માટે જાત ન્યોછાવર કરનારાં આપ બંને મારી સાથે પૂજાશો.’ ત્યાર બાદ હાલના મેત્રાણા ગામથી અડધો કિ.મી. દૂર તળાવના કાંઠે આ શૂરવીરે ફૂલોનો ઢગલો થઇ પ્રાણત્યાગ કર્યો. આજે ત્યાં સ્મારક તરીકે મૂર્તિ પ્રસ્થાપિત કરાઇ છે. જે શ્નચાચરેટ દાદા’ના નામથી પ્રચલિત છે.’ કાકોશિયા ચૌહાણ, ક્ષત્રિય ઠાકોર ભાઇઓમાં પ્રતિ વર્ષ ભાઇબીજના પવિત્ર દિવસે કસુંબાપાણી કરી પરસ્પર મળવાનો શિરસ્તો આજેય છે. લોકો શ્રીફળ, કંકુ, ઘોડો અને ધજા સાદર કરી વીરપૂજાની ધન્યતા અનુભવે છે.
  • Finally I visit my old village after 30 years it has been changed lots over there,but it was really good visit to see my old village, however I don't have enough time to stay over there since I don't have house anymore it is collapsed but I visited my old house anyway. I met some old freinds but the most Ismaili momins families are moved out from this beautiful village its make me little sad but what can you do? I cant blame those because I am one of them.
