Damrosch Park (New York City, New York)

Damrosch Park is located at the southwest corner of the Lincoln Center Plaza, at 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. It opened in 1969. The south side has street entrances, and the northeast corner of the park connects directly to the Center's central plaza. The 2.5-acre park’s Bandshell stage, set amidst verdant trees and planted flowerbeds, has been the open-air ballroom for New York City’s greatest outdoor dance party, Midsummer Night Swing since 1989, presenting salsa, swing, disco, lindy hop music and more played by dance bands from across the nation and around the world.

Damrosch Park is also the site of numerous free concerts in the summer as part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, with artists like Paul Taylor, Garth Fagan Dance, and Randy Newman performing on its stage.
