  • The Braganza Mansion and the adjoining Braganza-Fernandez Mansion are both well worth a visit. Very opulent in their day, now fading with grace although restoration is slowly occurring. You will probably be shown around by the present day residents, lovely homely yet quietly genteel people with great English and good knowledge of the houses and their history. All they ask in return is a tiny financial voluntary contribution (up to 100 rupees) and that you tell other people to visit, hence this posting on Wikimapia. It's an easy taxi ride from Margao or you can get the train although only three services stop at Chandor per day. Go there!
  • Braganza Mansion! what a place! A must see for ecery visitor to this lively state of Goa. Situated of few kilometers east of Margao, chandor is a quiet village,which was once a capital of Goa during the rule of Kadamba Dynasty. Braganza Mansion is just outside the Church Square and one must visit this place to admire the interiors of the the biggest residential house in Goa.
