In 1701 the Cardinal Pedro de Salazar, bought the land located in front of the Convent of San Pedro Alcantara, thinking to build a school for children who served in the Cathedral Choir.
The building became a hospital and it followed the same use until the mid 1970's, when the building became the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
