It is an historical place.IN this temple the famous king Paari's daughters Angavai & Sangavai got married with Athiyaman.This marriage was arranged by Avvaiyar the famous women tamil poet.who was the friend Paari & Athiyaman.for that marriage she invite the great three tamil kings Sera,Sola,Pandiya,and the three kings are came to that marriage.In this temple the statue of Avvaiyar was there.
