This is the Castle of King Tashi Nagmial 15th Cent. A.D. Below, a red temple which houses goddess Paldan Lhamo (skrt. Sreedevi) and a white temple in which a 3 storey height of Maitreya Buddha is to be seen. Monks from nearby Sankar monastery attend to both of these chapels every morning and evenings. A spectacular sight to view the old Leh valley.
