Situated on private property, the bridge has often featured as a location for filming, especially in the various adventure series produced for television by ITC in the 1960s. The bridge could also be seen in many episodes of The Avengers, featuring in the opening title sequence for one series of the programme.

  • Tykes Water Lake also appeared in TV series like 'auf Wiedersehen Pet' and the Proffesionals; it was also in an old black & white horror film called the village of the Damned'. The lake that it now spans was originally dug out by prisoners of war during the Napolianic wars from a stream that once flowed there' it was further dug and improved by German prisoners of war in the 2nd world war.
