This building as many others in this small settlement was abandoned by people in the very end of last century due to many reasons such as shortage of electricity and heat, supplied by local tiny power plant with obsolete equipment and absence of qualified personnel having a clue how to run and repair all this junk and cut-off in funding from Goverments of Chukotka and Magadan region also. Not mentioned such a "powerful" destroyer of many good things in Russia as Vodka "the most popular drink in whole country" and in this particular area especially. The habit of alcohol consumption was always heavily abused here. It was a cause of many casualties when people were frozen to death in tundra during blizzards while walking away from dwelling under influence of alcohol. What a waste of... everything in a name of nothing. I've spent 6 years of my life in this place on Earth from March, 1987 till February, 2003.
