  Its the airport in salem. Its not used for passenger flights. I heard some cargo flight comes once/twice in a month. Not sure abt that. Since Salem is very near to Bangalore airport (200 Kms), thrichy airport (140 kms) and Coimbatore airport (160 Kms) salem airport wont have any flight movement untill there is a massive change in people lifestyle.

  hi I'm shiva_sivakanthan@yahoo.co.in. it's my birth district. my home town is Olakkur. kundakkal village. this is Salem airport. it's build by our ex central minister hon'ble Rangarajan kumaramangalam's great achievement . but now no value 2 Salem airport. but here r more textails bussiness men. every body 've 2 go 2 other district and other state air port. it must 4 me. it's my district people's dream. officers please do inagurate soon 4 passenger flights. god'll blees u. do u knoew 1 tamil proverb is "kaiyla vennaiya vechukkittu Neiykku alaiurom"

  salem has got potentiala for air service.just check with the travel agents on bookings made by salemites to travel to cities like bombay,delhi.so flights 2 mumbai and delhi from salem could be viable.hoping for a arsevice soon from salem.
