Calvert Hall College High School was established in 1845 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools as a private Catholic college preparatory high school for boys. It is the oldest Christian Brothers school in the United States. For over one hundred the school was located in downtown Baltimore where it served as the Cathedral's parish high school. In September 1960 Calvert Hall moved to its current 32 acre location in Towson. The school's athletic program is well known for one of the oldest catholic school rivalries in the country with Loyola Blakefield.
