  • Long ago, while returning from Badrikaashram Aadi Guru Shankracharya alongwith his disciples stayed for a few days at this place and made beautiful temple locally famous as Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Built up in granite, glimpes of ancient architecture as that of Badrinath temple can be seen in this temple.
  • Maithana is popular local village for its geographical location as it serve as refrence point for many nearby local villages as for quite few years its post office was nodal office for such villages. The villagers generally constitue ethnic tribes/settlers, migrated long ago from elsewhere. Brahmins enjoys a majority status among populations of various castes present over here. Apart from moderate farming the occupation primarily is performing religious rituals, puja in ceramonies etc. to sustain their livelihood. Sizeable population also belongs to lower castes known as harijans. While a few families of non-brahmin(Rajputs) also live here. This place is knowns for its hospitable people.
