Peddapuram (Padma Puram) [ identified by srinu boddu ]

This is Peddapuram a historical municipal town situated in East Godavari Dist. Actually it's name was Padmapuram, a samsthanam which was ruled by Vatsavayi Dynasty.It is very famous for Silk.( Peddapuram silk is very famous in world wide.)so Maximum population is belongs to weavers community( Devanga). After Devanga community, Vysyas community comes next.S.R.V.B.S.J.B.M R College was established in 1967 in memory of Smt.Vatsavayi Buchi Seethaiahmma Jagapati Bahadur by Sri S.B.P.B.K.Satyanarayana Rao,the then Zilla Parishad chairman as the founder president.
A hillock Pandavula Metta was famous for picnic spot before 20 years. But now Jawahar Navodaya was constructed on that place.
A famous temple of Maridamma is situated here. Every year on Ashada Masam a big Carnival will be held for total one month.Once the piligrims will visit on this time and purchase household goods for the rest of the year.

Here Every Sunday A big Market will be held (popularly called as Peddapuram SANTHA) So,neighbour villagers( Kattamuru, Thimmapuram,Katravulapalli, Sirivada, Kandrakoda, Valu Thimmapuram are name to few) come here to purchase required goods.
