North Memorial Pool/Former 1 World Trade Center Footprint (New York City, New York)

The North Memorial Pool, part of the National September 11th Memorial, is located on the exact footprint of the former 1 World Trade Center.

1 World Trade Center
Destroyed during the 9/11 attacks, when American Airlines Flight 11 was deliberately crashed between the 93rd and 100th floors.

Construction began in August 1968. It was completed in 1972 and had 110 floors. 1 WTC could be distinguished by the massive antenna on the roof.

Windows on the World was located on the 106th and 107th floors. It was a restaurant with breathtaking views of Manhattan and the rest of New York. Some former employees have opened another restaurant, Colors, on Lafayette Street.

The North Tower was the first to be struck (8:46am) and the second to collapse (10:28am).
