New Mall with Sears, JC Penny, Dillards, and a Movie Theater
People go to the mall every day no matter the time. It is an awesome place to come with family to escape from the heat by just going from store to store. If you want to get shopping done, the mall is the place to do it; almost everything you could need is under one roof. You can also watch a movie at the theater.
The mall has a variety of purposes. Its main purpose is mainly the purchase of goods and services. It could also be a place where people gather to socialize. It has a sense of community because of the large groups of people making it seem like a local park. Although not common, you can exercise for free at the mall by parking father away, using the stairs or even the benches for strength training. One could also go out to dine while shopping. It’s open every day from ten in the morning till about nine in the evening. A recent event that was hosted was the Trick or Treat at Imperial Valley Mall where children ages 12 and under dress up and enjoy the free entertainment with their parents. An upcoming event is the Santa Arrival at Imperial Valley Mall which will be on November 19. There will be entertainment, giveaways, face painting, balloon twisting and more. A significant event that was held recently was the “Breast Cancer Awareness Bra Decorating Contest” where you raise awareness and show your support for breast cancer by participating in a bra decorating contest. Anyone, any age, race, religion and gender is welcomed to take part in the different events being held.
The bonds that are built and strengthen there are what makes the mall valuable. It is the one place where everyone from the valley and even those from outside the valley like Yuma, San Diego and especially Mexicali come and socialize and possibly build lifelong friendships. Families spend time together and actually communicate face to face which eliminates isolation and allows the opportunity to build on other members strengths.
