Recently we started on establishing a large computer center equipped with iMacs, lots of software programs that link with school objectives and a wireless network. This will be an unprecedented event in the South of Lebanon and will help improve student learning and add quality to teaching. The computers will be linked to a fast internet using the computer airport technology (wireless) so students can research and do lots of work.
Later, we will add a new classroom technology, the Interactive Whiteboard and ACTIVstudio from Promethean. This technology makes teaching/learning a joy and simulates the real world with all richness and high quality. The mastermind behind all this will be as usual the online-Principal, Abbas M. Hakim.

  • On Saturday, February 9, parents are invited to attend an opening ceremony of the new computer room at school in the presence of Interlink representatives. The room will house ten (10) super iMac computers loaded with tons of educational software that helps students in English, Maths, Sciences, critical thinking, and other areas besides a fast network link. The school manager is going to personally attend the ceremony.
  • The ceremony was conducted on Friday, February 8, 2008, in the presence of two representatives from Interlink. The computer classroom is now operative with a full-time CAI coordinator looking after the kids and the programs. Mabrook to Sarafand Academy this great jump into the future of classroom technology.
  • An extension to the east of the school main building is being under construction now. It will add four (4) classrooms and a staircase that leads to the fisrt and second floors of the building for easy access by students to their classes during the winter season. We will have two additional classrooms for the KG section (ground floor) and two more for the Basic sycle on the first floor. Two of these rooms will be forty-five (45) square meters.
  • It was decided that eight (8) classrooms were needed for the extension and so was it. Now the main school building has grown farther east.
  • A library was added which can take forty (40) students at a time. Books in both English and Arabic, including all subjects, where put on ten (ten ) six-shelf cabinets. The library boasts of advanced reference and internet facility with a full-time librarian. Students visit the library at least once a week in addition to their CAI Lab sheduled weekly visit.
  • I really appriciate the great effort that has been done for the Sarafand Academy School under the supervision of its Manager Mr. Abbas Hakim, wishing God will guide us to the best......
  • Hussein, I believe that we are all working hard to make this enterprise a great success. My hopes are that one day you and Athalia will handle the management of the school. With your expertise and Athalia's long experience in education, the school will be in good shape.
  • Four graduate students from the Sarafand Academy School won the Student Exchange Program competition sponsored by AMIDEAST to spend one year in the United States of America. There they will live with an American family and go to school. The lucky students are: 1) Yomna Ali Khalifeh 2) Mohammad Ali Misilmani 3) Husein Hasan Khalifeh 4) Karmen Mohammad Fakih MABROOK TO ALL.
  • The Sarafand Academy School has launched a website (http://www.sarafandacademy.com) where students can login to view lessons and practice tests. Also they can view useful information about school events, news, and activities. Parents can view the website to learn about the latest issues in education and hopefully in the future view their children's grades and school progress.
  • Work on the stage (also a conference room) in going on all the time, and hopefully this will be ready for use by April or May 2010. Meanwhile, the library will be functioning with the start-up of the school year 2009-2010, i.e. as of October 2009. A full-time librarian has been assigned, and students will enjoy their library sessions. We hope that donations, in the form of books, reference books, magazines will make the library more effective for reading and research purposes.
  • A new playground for the KG section has been made ready with amusement equipment that gives the kids the chance to learn social skills and build healthy strong bodies. Also the Interactive Training/Teaching Center has been started nder the auspices of the school Administrator.
  • The Safarand Academy School started in October 2012 to use a new teaching system where teachers develop quality worksheets that are fed to the school server. These objective sheets are accessed on the classroom computer station to be viewed and discussed. The idea is to engage the learners in the process of learning in an interactive way. After the discussion, practice sheets are handed to the students who work in well-organized groups. This is followed by assessment worksheets to make sure that the majority of the students know their objective completely. The pilot phase ended in 2013. Then all the worksheets, except the assessment were converted into interactive flipcharts to be use with the Promethean Interactive Whiteboard. The system covers all school subjects and is supervised by experienced senior teachers. On top of all responsibilities, a technician ensures the smooth access and delivery of the material according to a set plan. Moreover, the Online Master can access any class station to see that things are done the right way, and to give directions when needed.
  • It is worth mentioning that the Sarafand Academy school has installed a Camera Surveyance Sytem to ensure safety and security. The high-speed internet of the school enables the school officials to view and monitor the location at any time from anywhere. Also the Online Master can access the administration and classroom stations from anywhere on earth and help teachers in matters of importance. The only problem is the availability of electric power. The school has a generator that feeds the location with power during work hours. This is in itself both costly and needs supervision and service. That is why the school administration is planning to install a Solar Volataic System to insure the presence of power to keep the new teaching system running without interruption.
