The Wave Organ is an acoustic sculpture. Pipes run from the San Francisco Bay up to a series of platforms and benches, carrying the changing sounds of the waves to listeners. The volume and character of the sounds change depending on the tide level and the weather. The organ, which resembles a pile of Legos or the scenery at the end of the movie "Time Bandits," was built using stone from the demolished Laurel Hill Cemetery, and was completed in 1986.
