Formerly part of the 1960s downtown renovation movement, Alliance Bank Center is the latest name for the Fifth Street Center, which was formerly the Wells Fargo Center before the bank moved to the Minnesota World Trade Center (thus changing that building to Wells Fargo Place). This building previously had a St. Paul Skyway Library branch before closing due to budget cutbacks. This building features the largest food court in downtown St. Paul and connects directly through an elevated shopping arcade to Ecolab Plaza and Macy's.

NOTE: The Bill Hosko Gallery is located here; a local artist who does stunning artwork of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Certainly worth a visit, particularly for souvenirs that vary from the standard fare.
