This is a very ancient temple and it has been there for four Yugas. Lord Rama had visited this temple. Kanva maharishi did pooja here. One has to climb 3500 steps to come and worship the god. The god here is Lord Varadaraja and godess is Kuvalayavalli thaayar. There is also an Anjaneyana and Sukriva sannadhis. There are lot of visitors during month of Puratasai (October month).
How to take a pilgrimage to Naina malai?
From district head quarters Namakkal, you have to come to Sendamangalam which is 10 kilometers from Namakkal. From sendamanagalam, Naina malai foot hills(adivaram) is around 4 kilometers. From foot hills one has to climb 3500 steps to visit the temple which is at the top of the hill. Governmet plan to lay road till top of the hill by next year. |
Hi..i just want to add one most important information about nainamalai or mayavar or varutharaja perumal . There exist only 3 bhrama temple in this world ( may be in india- if i am not wrong). One of the bhrama is in this nainamali . You cannot see the bhrama temple by just seeing the statue around . But Bhrama is here - which is the truth , where people doesnt know about it .
If you go at the top of the temple for 3 times continuously for 3 tamil months(saturday), then your prayer will be answered .But i kindly request all to not ask anything to mayavar. Becase mayavar is the one who created us and he knows what to give and what not. so just keep everything in ur heart and do not ask him when you see the perumal. He knows ur interest and will definitly give the best of all times for ever.
Always remember : " Mayavar's character is very similar to monkey in one aspect - i.e) if you believe mayavar, he will give his hand in any situation , but if you leave the trust at anytime and get back to him, mayavar will never look back to you.( As like - monkey never take back her kid if the kid leave her mother once )

To be more explicit , i can just say - go to namakkal bus stand, from there u take a town bus towards paramatti vellur. Get down at the ATC dippo bus stop which is just 5 minutes from the namakkal main bus stand.Once you get down, cross the road and Just beside the ATC dippo - you will find a small street that goes for few miles. Just go straight on the road and at the end you ask for mayavar koil . The people in that area knows about it . It is small temple where the mayavar comes every friday and monday at sharp 9.15 or around .
