formed during strip mining during the 1960s. Sahara Lake is a new project in the Carrier Mills District. It will include camp grounds, and regions for fishing and hiking. The surrounding roads are now paved and set up is well underway.

  • This asset is currently under development by the State of Illinois. When it is more complete and ready for greater usage, it will be a fantastic asset for Harrisburg and Saline County.
